Run Vera Run!

A 5k run/walk on October 11th 2009 to benefit all-ages music and art at the Vera Project.

Thanks to all who supported the inaugural Run Vera Run!

The event was a ton of fun, and we’re thrilled to announce that with your help we were able to raise over $32,000 for the Vera Project!

Thanks to your support all-ages music and art will continue to thrive at the Vera Project. Every year over 37,000 people come to the Vera Project to experience awesome concerts, see new art, and learn skills from sound engineering to silk-screening to event production and beyond. Your donations, fundraising and physical effort will keep Seattle’s music and arts community open to young people and adults alike. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

If you participated, we have two final things you can help with:

  • Send us your feedback! Please take just a couple of minutes to fill out
    this brief survey
to help us determine what worked, what could be better and what we can do to make next year’s Run Vera Run an even bigger success. The survey is anonymous and we welcome your honest feedback.

  • We want your pictures! If you have photos of Run Vera Run, we’d love to see them. Please send any and all photos to runverarun@theveraproject.org. Ditto for video footage.

  • Many thanks to our sponsors, including:

  • The Boeing Company

  • Seattle Weekly

  • Moe Bar

  • Spitfire

  • Caffe Vita

  • Antarctic

  • Pike Street Fish Fry

  • And thanks to our stellar performers:

  • Amateur Radio Operator

  • Shannon Stewart, aka Inga the Ringa, our fearless warm-up leader

  • Megan Jasper, our wonderful MC

  • DepthOne, our talented graffiti-wall artist

  • And of course thanks to our vendors for providing free drinks and care for everyone who participated:

  • GoodBelly

  • Dr. Kristi Smith

  • Dig these businesses, who donated tasty food to Run Vera Run:

  • Le Panier

  • Madison Market

  • Nielsen’s Pastries

  • Safeway

  • Trader Joe’s, Queen Anne

  • Trophy Cupcakes

  • Finally, massive kudos to the Run Vera Run planning committee, including Kate Becker, Kim Berardi, Lauren Daniels, Joe Elenbaas, Steven Franz, Jasmin Kwan, Kristen Lound, Steve Manning, Shannon Roach and Michael Yuasa. These are the folks that made it happen!

Thanks again for supporting the Vera Project and Run Vera Run! We’ll be leaving this site up for a little while, so if you know anyone you know forgot to donate, rest easy – they still can. Hope to see you next fall for Run Vera Run version 2…
